Copper Dosing

The Aqua-Hort copper dosing system was originally developed for use on pot plant crops in Denmark but now has a range of applications in many types of nurseries.

It has been available for a number of years and now has well proven credentials from many trials, both in the laboratory and on nurseries, including an HDC Nursery trial in 2009. This is backed up by the experience of hundreds of installations in Europe and around the world.

The copper dosed water has a beneficial effect on the root systems of most plants and has been shown to have a significant controlling effect on fungal attacks such as Pythium and Phytopthera where the zoospores are killed by the exposure to the free copper in the irrigation water. Bacteria such as Xanthomonas, Agrobacter, Ralstonia, Erwinia and Clavibacter are also killed with exposures of 2-4 hours.
